Determinants of Pregnancy Outcomes After Assisted Reproductive Therapy: A Sample From the West Bank, Palestine

Background Infertility is a public health issue with significant impact on the well-being of affected couples. Aim This paper aims to detect determinants pregnancy and their outcome after assisted reproductive therapy (ART) in sample Palestinian society. Methods A retrospective observational study was carried out at Razan Medical Center for Infertility. Subjects were assigned into twelve categories based type infertility (primary versus secondary), cause infertility, treatment modality. Age marriage, age presentation, duration addition regularity menstruation, also studied. Biochemical considered endpoint purpose analysis. Results We reviewed files 459 subjects diagnosed infertility. 79.74% had primary while 20.26% secondary. 28.85% found be infertile due anovulation, 2.86% endometriosis, 16.74% attributed male factor, 3.3% tubal damage. 13.43% cases multifactorial 34.80% idiopathic. Four biochemical markers assessed our study: thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) (x̄=2.32±2.46), luteinizing (x̄=6.71±4.90), follicle-stimulating (FSH) (x̄=6.59±6.11), human prolactin (x̄=41.88±6.50). The menstrual cycle regular 70.58% subjects, contrast 29.41% irregular cycles. female mean presentation 22.76±5.58, marriage 22.76±4. 3.97±6.87 years. Patients treated via three modalities - ovarian stimulation (2.2%), intrauterine insemination (29.58%), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (68.21%) success rate 51.85%. Of studied factors, only diagnosis, hormone, modality outcome, p-values 0.040, 0.003, <.0.001, respectively. Conclusions There strong relationship between diagnosis prior intervention, level FSH, successful ART.
